i loved that they carry sugar free almond milk! Such a rare find! i can not do dairy or sugar, so at most coffee shops i have to bring my own sugar free almond milk and just get an Americano. But here i was able to get a latte! And one of the owners was so nice helping me figure out some information i needed as i was just passing through.

This small, cozy coffee house on the south side of Taos off the Paseo is my dream idea of the type of coffee shop I would love to own and enjoy visit. Cozy interior is decorated with local artwork and comfortable furniture. Coffee is incredible from the full-service bar. Special features like sandwiches, wraps, cookies, and more make this place a one-stop to get your Taos morning going. The beautiful wood carved entrance doors are mesmerizing. If you are passing through, or you're a local, stop in and give this spot your business.

I'm a born and bred Taoseña who's been a patron of Taos Java for about 15 years now. When I was 16 and worked at the hotel right across the street as a night auditor, I'd stop by for a blended caramel macchiato every morning at 7am on the way home. Donna, the late owner, was always chipper and so sweet! She used to love to talk about how they did coffee the old-school way. She was incredibly proud every time a machine or other piece of the cafe came in. I know the community misses her kind soul.
Since I started drinking Taos Java coffee, I compare everything to it. SB tastes like sugar-filled garbage now. I moved to ABQ for 9 years before heading to Los Angeles and nothing compares. Every single time I come back home, I always make sure I get a blended caramel macchiato. It's by far the best coffee on their menu (that's a hard choice though). I cannot recommend this cafe enough!
It breaks my heart to know they are no longer open weekends and close at 1pm. They used to be open Saturdays til 1pm and every weekday til 3pm. Both locals and tourists need to experience and support this cafe! Shop local. Support incredible local products and great customer service. Taos Java has been doing it right since they opened up. Don't sleep on them! -

Wow! $1.50 upcharge for almond milk? About the same for ice? And then another $.75 for a credit card? Dang.... And none of that on the menu... I feel very ripped off!
